First Communion Catechesis
Parents are the First and Best Teachers in the Faith
Led by David Wills, Diocesan Adult Formation Adviser, these sessions offer an opportunity for catechists to learn more about a transformative approach in which parents take the lead role, with the support of catechists and others, in delivering sacramental preparation.
“I have been involved in quite a few First Communion programmes over the years but none have brought me as much joy as this. It has been wonderful to witness a parent and child sharing and laughing together during the sessions… it encourages the parents to own their baptismal promise to be the most important teachers for their children.” (Catechist from St. Thomas More, Seaford)
